2007...the whirlwind ends!!!

What a year! In 2007 I went from breaking up with the most amazing woman in the world to marrying her!! I guess it took some time for me to see Jen for who she truly is. A Proverbs 31 woman. She has huge intergrity, a work ethic which makes most men look like a bunch of sissys, love for people that is undoubtly from on High (remember, she married me after 6 years of dragging my feet), and most importantly, she loves Christ more than anything else in the world.

However, 2007 did end on a rather difficult note. The last two weeks of the year my dad was in the local hospital for internal bleeding and obstructed bowels. I believe he came very near to death on Friday December 21st. After two "procedures" and one surgery he is out of the hospital and begenning his long road to recovery. Over this time I came to realize how significant my dad is in my life. Sometimes it isn't until a loved one is gone that one begins to realize how important ones family is. My dad is basically a machine. At 67 years old he works harder than most 25 year olds. My entire life I've watched my dad work really hard to support our family and do so WITHOUT ever complaining. I truly believe God used Joe Mathis to shape me into the man I am today. As I laid in bed the morning of Saturday December 22nd waiting to get a phone call from my mom, the Lord showed me how valuable Joe Mathis is to the Kingdom. Thankyou God for saving his life and allowing his legacy to continue here on earth.

So, 2008. Bring it on! Whatever you have. Our youth ministry and family ministry is ready for ANYTHING that comes our way!
